HEMOSOL SALE CONFIRMED; MELNYK MUM

A buyer has been found for insolvent medical products maker Hemosol Corp. and its affiliate Hemosol LP, according to the companies' interim receiver. Last Monday, The Globe and Mail reported that Biovail Corp. chairman Eugene Melnyk was negotiating to acquire the company, which has been operating under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act for the past six months.
