Eighteen months after its creation was announced, the FDA's Division of Drug Oncology Products (DDOP) officially has someone in charge.

The FDA announced recently that Robert Justice will be the director of the DDOP after several months as acting director. Justice joined the FDA in 1985 and has served in the Division of Oncology and Radiopharmaceutical Drug Projects, the Division of Oncology and Pulmonary Drug Products, the Division of Gastrointestinal and Coagulation Drug Products and the Division of Biologic Oncology Products.

He has also served in private practice and as a senior clinical scientist at Genetech working on new therapies for cancer.

Justice got his undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his medical degree from the University of California at Davis School of Medicine. He also received a master's degree in biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University.
