HEAVY HITTERS FROM CAPITOL HILL, FDA TO APPEAR AT MDMA ANNUAL MEETING

Sen. Mike Enzi (R-WY) will be presented with the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA) Chairman's Award during the association's 12th Annual Meeting June 14 and 15 in Washington, D.C.

MDMA is recognizing the senator for his "steadfast support of small and innovative medical technology innovators," including the lawmaker's support for industry during negotiations with the FDA on the agency's device user-fee program.

Mark McClellan, administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), FDA Acting Commissioner Andrew von Eschenbach, Director of the Center for Devices and Radiological Health Dan Schultz and Deputy Director of the Center for Medicare Management at CMS Tom Gustafson will also appear at the event.

Topics to be discussed include Medicare reimbursement, hospital group purchasing organization reform, federal healthcare compliance and effective patent strategies.
