EU AGREES ON RULES FOR CHILDREN'S MEDICINES

After almost six years of toing and froing, the European Parliament at long last voted through a set of new safety rules last week on childrens medicines. Some observers have pointed to lobby groups representing the pharmaceutical industry as having applied delaying tactics in the hope that the proposed legislation would eventually be consigned to the realms of history.
