BARR, ACTAVIS VIE FOR CROATIA'S PLIVA

Two companies have emerged as lead bidders for Croatian pharmaceuticals maker Pliva. With competing offers of about 2.1 billion dollars, sources familiar with the situation said that Barr Pharmaceuticals and Actavis Group are looking to buy the Croatian company.
