ANGOLA PUSHES FORWARD WITH VACCINATION PLAN
June 26, 2006
At least $15.8 million has been used by the Angolan government and its partners in the "Viva a Vida com Saúde" ("Enjoy a Healthy Life") campaign intended to vaccinate 3.6 million children under age 5.
The campaign will include vaccination against poliomyelitis and measles, and administration of vitamin A and anti-parasitic medications.
The program, which is jointly sponsored by the Angolan government, the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children Education Fund (UNICEF), will begin in early July, said the government.
