IRISH SLEEP EXPERIMENT ON TRIAL IN SPACE

July 5, 2006

A unique Irish made device that could help beat sleep problems is to be tested on astronauts in Space. The Irish experiment, devised by two University of Limerick students, will travel to the International Space Station with the NASA shuttle Discovery, which is due to be launched this week. An astronaut will wear the special vest type device — called the Casper — to monitor his sleep over 150 days.
