PAR PHARMACEUTICAL HAS DROPPED TO A 52-WEEK LOW

Par Pharmaceutical announced after the close on Wednesday that it will restate financial results for fiscal years 2004 and 2005 and the first quarter of 2006. The restatement will also delay the filing of the company's second quarter Form 10-Q with the SEC.
