SCHWARZ PHARMA LIKELY TO LURE SUITORS

Schwarz Pharma AG may be the next German drugmaker to attract suitors in an industry that's starved for new products. The company's shares have gained 27% in a month after rival Merck KGaA dropped plans to buy Schering AG, fueling speculation it may turn to Schwarz. Monheim, Germany-based Schwarz, once one of the country's biggest generic-drug makers, now develops its own medicines and its products may generate more than $2.5 billion in annual sales.
