DURAMED SIGNS SUPPLY/MARKETING DEAL FOR MEDICAL DEVICE

July 14, 2006

Duramed Pharmaceuticals has partnered with an Israeli company to bring to market a device that would help detect pregnancy problems. The Cincinnati-based company and Common Sense Ltd., a biomedical company based in Caesarea, Israel, will cooperate on Al-Sense, a panty-liner coated with a patented polymer strip that can detect leakage of amniotic fluid. Leakage of the fluid could indicate to the wearer that a problem with the pregnancy is developing.
