January 8, 2007

Zota Pharmaceuticals has recently upgraded its manufacturing facility and received approval from Nigerian authorities to export products to Nigeria, reports the Indian pharmaceutical news source Pharmabiz. The company has already registered six products in Nigeria and plans begin exporting a total of 20 products this year.

"The African market is really huge and it would benefit our company a lot," K. R. Suresh, director of Zota, told Pharmabiz. "We have already tied up with some companies to export our products to Nigeria and are in talks with some companies in Ghana to export products."

As part of the upgrade, Zota has installed an internationally accepted packaging system, according to Pharmabiz. In addition, the company has received approval for 12 of its drugs in Kenya and is also in the process of registering its products in European countries including Belarus and in Central American countries.

In addition to dietary supplements, Zota manufactures antibiotics, anti-infectives, sedatives, anti-inflammatory drugs, allergy drugs and malaria drugs, according to the company's website.
