VISEN MEDICAL, OLYMPUS SIGN DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT FOR ASIA

VisEn Medical announced Monday that it has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Olympus covering sales of the company's fluorescence molecular tomography (FMT) imaging systems and portfolio of in vivo near infrared fluorescence imaging probes in Asia (South Korea, Singapore, China and Taiwan).

This agreement adds to an exclusive distribution agreement between the two companies covering Japan, which began in September. Under the new agreement, Olympus will expand its sales territory of the VisEn products to include all key Asian markets. Olympus plans to commence sales of VisEns products in South Korea and Singapore in January, followed by China and Taiwan.

VisEns said its FMT imaging system works to identify, characterize and quantify biomarkers in vivo, including known molecular activities underlying diseases such as cancer, inflammation and cardiovascular and bone diseases.
