EISAI INCREASES PRESENCE IN EUROPE

Less than three years after first establishing its European headquarters in London, Eisai announced it has established a European pharmaceutical manufacturing subsidiary, Eisai Manufacturing. The facility will be located in Hatfield, England, and owned by Eisai Europe.

The site, which is Eisai's first manufacturing facility in Europe, will function as the core base of quality assurance and supply-chain management for the company's European operations. By establishing a manufacturing base in Europe, the company aims to enhance its global supply chain, ensuring the company's commitment to a stable supply of safe, high-quality products. The site will be operational beginning in 2008.

Eisai also recently announced the planned construction of the European Knowledge Center. Located near Hatfield, the center will consolidate all of Eisai's components in the region, including the headquarters, R&D centers, production facilities and marketing offices.
