ASM Creates First Database Specifically to Support Medical Device Design

ASM International announced it created a database of information on materials for cardiovascular devices. The Materials for Medical Devices Database: Cardiovascular Module is the only comprehensive database created specifically to support medical device design, ASM said.

The database, intended for researchers and designers, provides mechanical, physical biological response and drug-compatibility properties for the materials and coatings used in cardiovascular applications.

It includes thousands of citations to published literature, information on FDA device approvals, manufacturers' datasheets and links to websites.
