Roche to Acquire BioVeris for $600 Million

Roche will acquire BioVeris, a diagnostics company, for $600 million, Roche announced.

This merger will allow Roche to expand its immunochemistry business from the human diagnostics field into new market segments such as life science research, life science development, patient self-testing and clinical trials, the company said.

Roche added that by acquiring BioVeris, it would own the complete patent estate of the electrochemiluminescence technology used in the Elecsys product line, the company's "fastest growing portfolio."
