AdvaMed: U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement Good for Devicemakers

AdvaMed supports a recently announced free trade agreement (FTA) between the U.S. and the Republic of Korea, AdvaMed President and CEO Stephen Ubl said.

"The FTA demonstrates Korea's commitment to increasing access for its citizens to lifesaving and life-enhancing medical technologies," he said. "We are also pleased that the agreement calls for the establishment of a Medicines and Medical Devices Working Group to continue the two sides' dialogue on healthcare policy issues."

Ubl added that Korea is an important market for U.S. medical technology companies, which exported more than $670 million worth of products to Korea last year.
