Roche Acquires 454 Life Sciences for $140 Million

Roche and CuraGen announced that Roche will purchase 454 Life Sciences, a subsidiary of CuraGen, for $140 million.

Roche already has a distribution agreement with 454 Life Sciences for its genome sequencer systems, based on the 454 sequencing technology.

Roche said this acquisition will give it access to 454's future generations of sequencing products and the use of 454 sequencing for in vitro diagnostic applications.
