Court: Boston Scientific Infringed on J&J Stent Patent

April 6, 2007

A jury found Boston Scientific liable for infringing on Johnson & Johnson's (J&J) Palmaz stent patent in a retrial of patent litigation, Boston Scientific announced.

The jury found that a claim of the J&J patent was valid and infringed on by the NIR stent, formerly sold by Boston Scientific and manufactured by Medinol.

Boston Scientific no longer markets or sells the NIR stent, it said. The company also noted that the jury only determined liability -- not monetary damages.
