Lupin Receives MHRA Approval for Lisinopril

July 2, 2007

Lupin announced it received approval for generic Lisinopril in 2.5-, 5-, 10- and 20-mg strengths from the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

Lisinopril is used for treating hypertension and congestive heart failure and is the generic equivalent of Merck’s Prinivil tablets, Lupin said.

Kamal Sharma, Lupin’s managing director, said that approval marked the first time the MHRA had approved a generic made by the company.
