Orchid Announces FDA Decision on Cefdinir

Indian drug company Orchid announced that it has received approval from the FDA for its abbreviated new drug application for cefdinir 300 mg and cefdinir for oral suspension 125 and 250 mg/5 ml.

According to Orchid, cefdinir is a cephalosporin antibiotic drug that recently went off patent.

The product had a retail market sale of around $1 billion prior to patent expiration in May, the company added.
