Over 400,000 Children Immunized against Poliomyelitis

According to the Angola Press an estimated 498,728 children under the age of 5 were recently vaccinated against poliomyelitis in a district of Angola.

The district’s health delegate, Domingos Cristóvão, said the number of vaccinations exceeded the previously expected number 370,235 children, the Angola Press added.

For the success of the campaign, he stressed that there were 766 people involved, including mobile brigades, vaccinators, supervisors, awareness campaigners, as well as fixed teams installed in various markets and churches of the area, the paper added.
