Pfizer Launches Friendly Pharmacy Initiative

August 14, 2007

According to the Nigerian newspaper This Day, Pfizer has launched a new project to help selected Nigerian pharmacies in providing access to quality drugs, information and vital health screening in an effort to help the nation fight counterfeit medicines.

Under the Pfizer-Friendly Pharmacy Program, pharmacies would be supplied with free disease awareness educational materials and benefit from the company’s special discount per volume plan on products and product-based discounts, This Day reported.

Jude Abonu, Pfizer’s marketing director, said the program would help the company, the pharmacies and members of the public, who can now be sure of the quality of drugs they are buying.

Abonu added that in the struggle to prevent counterfeit drugs, Pfizer-Friendly Pharmacies, as branded pharmacies, would be assisted to stock only genuine Pfizer products.
