EMEA: Antivirals Can Be Taken by Pregnant Women in Pandemic

Antiviral influenza drugs including Tamiflu and Relenza can be given to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and Tamiflu can be given to children younger than 1 year if the World Health Organization declares the current outbreak of influenza A (H1N1) a pandemic, the European Medicines Agency’s (EMEA) Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) says.
