FDA Comes Up Short on Fiscal 2008 User Fee Goals
The FDA has been slipping when it comes to meeting its user fee performance goals, outlined most recently in the Food and Drug Administration Amendments Act of 2007. A report on the agency’s goals for fiscal 2008 shows that it failed to meet many of those performance goals and performed worse than in fiscal 2007 on some. The report “presents a picture of mixed success,” FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg says in the 2008 performance report to the president and Congress.
