Study Finds Two Sling Surgeries Equally Effective

Two operations featuring slings — synthetic mesh that supports the urethra — achieve similar outcomes for urinary incontinence in women, according to a study from a clinical trial supported by NIH. The Trial of Mid-Urethral Slings found that the two most common procedures have similar chances for cure, although each has different risks.
