House Committee Approves Spending Bill to Raise FDA’s Budget

The House appropriations committee advanced a fiscal year 2019 budget bill that would increase the FDA’s budget authority to $3.1 billion, up from $2.8 billion in FY 2018.
The bill includes user fees of $960.5 million for prescription drugs, $501 million for human generic drugs and nearly $41 million for biosimilars.
The Senate is expected to mark up its version of the bill this week.
