Sanofi Faces First State Lawsuit Over NDMA
September 24, 2019
Sanofi has been sued in Florida by a man claiming that the company’s heartburn drug Zantac (ranitidine) caused him to develop breast cancer.
The suit alleges that Sanofi sold Zantac knowing that it contained the suspected carcinogen N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA).
The filing came just days after the FDA and EMA announced they are investigating the drug after learning that it contained low levels of the impurity.
