Pfizer and Mylan Delay Merger Due to COVID-19
Mylan’s merger with Pfizer-subsidiary Upjohn has been pushed back to the second half of 2020 because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Mylan and Upjohn are merging to form a new company called Viatris. The companies first announced the merger in July 2019, and originally aimed for it to close mid-2020.
Citing delays in the regulatory review process, the companies postponed key shareholder approval meetings from late April to June.
