The Senate has approved a $484 billion coronavirus emergency relief package that includes $25 billion for diagnostic tests, sending it on to the House for a final vote.
The diagnostic test funding will go toward research and development, manufacturing, purchasing, administration and validation of coronavirus diagnostics.
The package includes $1.8 billion for the National Institutes of Health and $1 billion for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
