Singapore Targets Fraudulent COVID-19 Test Kits
May 29, 2020
Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority said that since February it has required the removal of more than 40 COVID-19 diagnostic test kits from e-commerce websites for making fraudulent claims.
The agency said it has not approved or validated any COVID-19 test kits for home use and stressed that the tests have inherent design limitations.
To ensure accurate test results, testing for COVID-19 in Singapore can only be done by laboratories or medical professionals in clinics and hospitals, the agency said.
