FDA Clears Olympus’ Slim Gastrointestinal Colonoscopes
October 12, 2020
The FDA has granted Olympus 510(k) marketing clearance for two small-diameter colonoscopes for diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal tract disorders.
The PCF-H190 device enables tighter angulation while allowing the passage of treatment accessories, and the PCF-HQ190 includes technology that enables 3D visualization during insertion.
The improved maneuverability provided by the slimmer designs help to reduce intubation time during colonoscopy procedures, the company said.
