Becton Dickinson Gets Orders for Over 1 Billion Vaccine Injection Devices
Becton Dickinson (BD) has announced that orders for its needles and syringes have exceeded 1 billion as countries purchase supplies needed to administer COVID-19 vaccines.
The company has already delivered more than 300 million injection devices globally and said that the remaining orders will be sent out by the end of 2021.
BD has launched a $1.2 billion program to expand and upgrade its manufacturing capabilities for pre-fillable syringes and advanced drug delivery systems. It has also partnered with the U.S. government in a $70 million initiative to expand its Nebraska manufacturing site, a project due to be completed next summer.
