Sona Nanotech has been granted CE mark certification for its rapid COVID-19 antigen diagnostic and is now taking orders from EU member states.
The Nova Scotia, Canada, company said it will market its test as a screening tool for organizations that wish to test people in high-risk gatherings where rapid testing could quickly identify infected patients. The company is now able to commit to orders and will use its UK-based contract manufacturer to fulfill them.
The rapid antigen test, which provides qualitative results in 15 minutes using nasopharyngeal swabs, is intended to be administered by a professional, Sona said.
