Barcelona, Spain-based iVascular has obtained CE mark certification for its iCover balloon-expanding covered stent for treating peripheral lesions.

The stent, which includes inner and outer layers of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene, has been designed to adapt to complex blood vessels. It also provides improved visibility under X-rays because of the radiopaque markers located at its ends.

Balloon-expanding covered stents like iCover are frequently used to treat arteriosclerotic lesions in renal and iliac arteries, as well as aneurisms and ruptures.
