Eli Lilly to Spend Over $1.5 Billion for New Manufacturing Hubs
Eli Lilly said it will spend more than $1.5 billion to build new manufacturing facilities in Concord, N.C., and Limerick, Ireland.
Lilly plans to spend $1 billion to create an injectables and devices manufacturing hub in Concord. The company has had a foothold in the state since 2020, when it spent $470 million on a Research Triangle Park facility.
Lilly has had a presence in Ireland since 1978. The new $500 million investment there will establish a biologics active ingredients production plant.
The company has invested more than $4 billion in worldwide manufacturing over the past five years and more than $2 billion in the U.S. alone.
