Abuse-Deterrent Opioid Bill Breezes Through House Committee

The House Energy and Commerce Committee unanimously approved advancing the Opioid Review Modernization Act (H.R. 4976) to the House floor.

No amendments were attached to the bill prior to the voice vote during last week’s two hour mark-up session. 

The bill would require the FDA to convene an advisory committee to review opioids and establish an expedited approval pathway for abuse-deterrent opioids.
