Prospective Gating Technology Reduces Radiation Dose for Coronary CT
The low-dose technique SnapShot Pulse by GE Healthcare allows a coronary CT angiography to be performed with about 5 mSv radiation dose or less and a bypass study at 10 mSv or less, a recent study shows. This represents a dose reduction of about 70 percent compared to the usual helical mode with retrospective gating and without compromising image quality.
