CBO Score of Healthcare Overhaul Bill Includes Generic First Fills

The latest version of Sen. Max Baucus’ (D-Mont.) healthcare overhaul bill, which retains costs for giving some Medicare patients free first fills of generic prescriptions, would have total spending of $829 billion and reduce the federal budget by $81 billion over 10 years, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) says.
