Forest, Orchid Settle Patent Dispute Over Proposed Generic Namenda
Forest Laboratories and Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals have settled a patent-infringement suit filed after Orchid applied to make a generic version of Forest’s Alzheimer’s drug Namenda. Under the terms of the settlement reached in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, Orchid will be able to launch a generic version of Namenda (memantine HCl) 5- and 10-mg tablets no later than January 2015, the company says.
