Zoll Gets FDA Warning Letter on Defibrillator’s Battery Life

Zoll Medical received a U.S. Food and Drug Administration warning letter for allegedly failing to validate the battery life of its automated external defibrillators. In a website posting on Tuesday, the agency claimed Zoll received 15 complaints from September 2009 through January 2011 of battery depletion prior to the calculated five-year battery life cycle.
