Americans may soon have access to a binge-eating drug manufactured by Shire. The drug Vyvanse is approved by the FDA for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in children age 6 to 12. However, Shire said the same medicine may limit binge eating by its interaction with brain chemicals that affect mood, motivation and inhibition.
