While social media is no game, especially in the pharma industry, one wrong move can mean checkmate for smaller drugmakers’ marketing efforts. “Look no further than the game that is being developed by Boehringer Ingelheim to ‘educate’ people about drug development,” blogger Rich Meyer writes. “I have seen a lot of very dumb moves but this may be the king of stupid ways to spend your money.” Social media is meant to be open and quick communication between the industry and its constituents. “Does anyone really believe that people have the time to play a game to determine how drugs are developed?” Meyer ponders.
