FDA Approves Teva’s Plan B One-Step Without Age Restrictions
June 21, 2013
The FDA June 20 approved Teva’s Plan B One-Step for sale without a prescription for all women of child-bearing potential, ending a years-long battle over all-ages access to emergency contraceptives, and, the agency said, making it compliant with an April 5 court order to make levonorgestrel-containing emergency contraceptives available as an over-the-counter (OTC) product without age or point-of-sale restrictions.
