A Canadian doctor warns that financial ties between medical schools and pharmaceutical companies create untenable conflicts of interest. His own pain management training in medical school was taught by a doctor on a pharmaceutical company’s speakers’ bureau and the textbook was provided by Purdue Pharma, makers of OxyContin.
