U.S. FDA Agrees to UDI Global Date Format in Bow to Industry Pressure

When the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s final rule on unique device identifiers is published, it will require that UDIs be dated according to European style — year-month-day — rather than month-day-year, as is done in the U.S.
