Cohera Medical Receives Approval to Market Surgical Sealant in EU
Cohera Medical has received approval to market its Sylys surgical sealant in the European Union, along with certain other countries.
The sealant, which is designed to reduce leaks after gastrointestinal procedures, provides additional support to the anastomosis during the first few days of healing, the period when leaks are most likely to occur.
The product, applied as a viscous fluid that creates an elastic seal over the anastomosis site, degrades in two weeks and is reabsorbed.
Cohera is a medical device company that actively develops surgical adhesives and sealants and is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pa. — Michael Cipriano
