Hill-Rom Acquires Welch Allyn for $2.05 Billion
Chicago, Ill.-based Hill-Rom Holdings has acquired in vitro diagnostics maker Welch Allyn for $2.05 billion.
The combination of Hill-Rom’s presence in hospitals and operating rooms and Welch Allyn's diagnostics and testing will expand both companies' ability to provide patient care solutions that improve clinical outcomes, the devicemaker said.
The acquisition is also expected to achieve greater levels of efficiency and reduced healthcare costs for customers, Hill-Rom said. — Michael Cipriano
