Mississippi Nurse Practitioner Pleads Guilty in Compounding Pharmacy Fraud Scheme
June 19, 2018
A nurse practitioner based in Mississippi plead guilty in a multi-million dollar scheme to defraud health care benefit programs, including Tricare, the program that serves U.S. military, veterans and their families.
Susan Perry pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud in the Southern District of Mississippi Court, part of a 13-count indictment.
The scheme involved prescribing compounded medications to individuals who did not need them, taking advantage of reimbursements that Hattiesburg, Mississippi-based Advantage Pharmacy filed for and Tricare paid.
