Sandoz Recalls Omeprazole Powder for Impurities
Sandoz recalled a batch of its Omeprazole powder in the UK due to degradation in some vials of the acid reducer used to treat heartburn, ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease.
The degradation caused green discoloration of the powder in the vials and increased levels of impurities in the medicine.
Sandoz said the root cause was an extended exposure to a UV light in a warehouse and said the problem only impacted one recalled batch.
