Novacyt has been given approval to market its novel coronavirus diagnostic test in Europe for clinical detection of the 2019 strain of the virus.

The France-based biotech company said it believes its COVID-19 test is the first one to receive CE Mark certification.

Novacyt has already received orders for 288,000 tests and previously launched a research-use-only test for the novel coronavirus on January 31.
